Watch Joanne Pasternack, Former Vice President of Community Relations and Executive Director of the Warriors Community Foundation and now current President and Chief Impact Officer of Oliver+Rose. She oversaw charitable efforts for the Golden State Warriors. Her job included helping players figure out where their philanthropic passions are – such as visiting little children in the hospital. One great part of her job was that every day was different. Community relations is a terrific way to bring together a girl’s passion for being a leader, creating events and programming, and organizing a group toward a common cause. She advises girls in middle school that “it gets better” and “when you feel you are not at your best, take a moment and find someone who cares about you.”
